Getting Started with Adobe Illustrator

Week 1
During my initial week of using Illustrator, I relied on online tutorials to familiarize myself with the various tools and features of the application. These tutorials not only introduced me to new skills but also showcased diverse designs that could be utilized in poster-making.
I began by mastering the creation of basic shapes, progressing to crafting intricate designs characterized by lines, waves, and creating three-dimensional elements. Additionally, I acquired skills in manipulating colors to transform posters into simple but visually captivating artworks.
During the week, I created the following posters using the tutorials as a guide.

Week 2
Transitioning into the second week, I drew inspiration from movie posters and other designs that caught my eye. Leveraging the skills I honed in the first week, I recreated four poster designs, which are showcased below as my own interpretations.
On the left half of each design are the original posters and on the right half are the posters that I recreated.

Week 3
Moodboard
Transitioning into the third week, I curated a Moodboard centered around one of my favorite movies 'Top Gun.'
Here is the moodboard that I created for my poster:
Reflecting on my board, I chose pictures that expressed the emotion of the movie and the warm colors present in the film, overlapping the images to create a collage and picking out the colors from different photos to create a color pallet. Using the color pallet, I created a hexagonal background to remove negative space to make the board look fuller and add texture.

Ideation
During my ideation process, I sketched a poster I had in mind. I wanted to create a simple, minimalistic poster with clear text, an image representing what the movie is about, and a summary of the film and the sequel. Below is the sketch that I came up with.

Final Poster
For my final poster, I went through my imagination, and as I made the poster, I added a 3D design in the center using the skills I learned previously, instead of adding texture on the top and bottom of the page, which tied everything together. For the jet, I referenced an image of an actual jet and used the pen tool in Illustrator to make the jet and the gradient tool for the background. And below is the final result of my poster.
